My Favourite Eats in Kent

Writer: Amie ButlerAmie Butler

Kent is home to some incredible food spots, and if you’re looking for the best places to eat, I’ve got you covered. From indulgent fine dining to laid-back brunch spots, here are some of my absolute favourites.

  1. Tallow / Tunbridge Wells / Fine Dining

Tallow is a true gem, offering refined, ingredient-led dishes in an intimate setting. The menu is ever-changing, but you can always expect beautifully plated food packed with flavor. Their seasonal approach means every visit is a little different, making it a must-visit for any foodie.

  2. Bottega Caruso / Margate / True Italian Food

If you’re craving authentic Italian flavors by the sea, Bottarga Caruso is the place to be. This small but mighty eatery serves up fresh, handmade pasta and seafood dishes that transport you straight to the Mediterranean. Their focus on high-quality ingredients makes every bite unforgettable.

  3. The Good Egg / Brunch/ Clifftonville

Brunch lovers, take note! The Good Egg in Cliftonville is a fantastic spot for Middle Eastern-inspired dishes with a modern twist. From shakshuka to stuffed pitas and incredible coffee, this place knows how to do comfort food right. Perfect for a lazy weekend brunch with friends.

  4. Tomago / Canterbury / Japanese

For something a little different, Tomago in Canterbury is a Japanese-inspired café specializing in sandos, onigiri, and matcha treats. Their egg salad sando is a must-try—fluffy, rich, and perfectly seasoned. It’s a small, cozy spot that’s perfect for a quick but delicious bite.
